Re-opening Monday May 18th
Dear patients and families,
We hope this letter finds everyone healthy, happy and prepared to ease back into regular routines. Much has changed since we saw you last, so we wanted to update you on our office, it's measured re-opening, and the steps we are taking to ensure we do everything possible to keep our patients and our team healthy.
We have always taken infection control very seriously in dentistry and orthodontics. With the arrival of Covid-19, new guidelines have been created. Our office is well prepared to follow all recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
To that end, we will be reopening on Monday, May 18th, however, we will be seeing less patients per day and following a few new protocols and office measures to do our part to keep everyone safe. We want to thank you in advance for your patience while we re-open.
We have already begun rescheduling patients on a first-canceled-first-rescheduled basis, which is fair, efficient, and will get everyone back on track as soon as possible. Our office procedures have temporarily changed and will include the following:
We will update any of these procedures as necessary based on the most recent guidelines regarding Covid-19.
Lastly, WE LOVE OUR PATIENTS! We also love to chat with you at your appointment. Please understand that conversations may be reduced to allow for social distancing, running on time, disinfection of treatment areas, etc.
We are so grateful for every one of our patients, and this time away has only served to make us even more thankful for each of you. You are the life-force of our practice, and this is why we are taking your safety very seriously. We would ask for your patience and understanding. I do believe we will be headed back to normalcy soon!
If you have any questions, please give our office a call.
Dr. Robert Cuenin, Tina, Susie, Carlyn, Veronica, Jen, Jan, Janice, Galina and Marina
Dear Patients and Families,
As we enter the second week of our shelter in place order, our office remain will remain closed indefinitely in order to help curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus. I will continue to keep you updated on the dental community and when we may be back in action. As you know, there is no timetable for now and we need to make plans to be down for some time.
Remember, the most important thing you can do is keep your appliances CLEAN! Nothing works better than that.
For our patients that have braces, you will likely be in a rest phase until we resume, and there is nothing additional you need to do at this time. If you are wearing rubbing bands, continue as directed. We can change this depending on how long we are closed. If you are wearing Invisalign aligners, slow down the rate of change to 2-3 weeks per aligner. If you are at the end, we can often order a new set and have you go to nights only until we restart.
If you have any questions about your treatment and would like to be seen, we can do a video conference on Zoom or Google Hangouts. We can review rubber band instructions going forward or anything else that may be of concern.
Keep everything CLEAN and stay well!
To our patients and parents,
First and foremost, I hope you and your families are safe and healthy during this uncertain time. I wanted to send out an update about you or your family member’s orthodontic care.
Due to new guidelines from the CDC, American Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontics, orthodontic treatment has been classified as non-essential medical care and therefore, we are required to close our office until further notice. Unfortunately, I can’t estimate the date that we will re-open at this time.
Fortunately, orthodontic appointments happen in cycles, usually at 4-8 week intervals during active treatment. Many of our patients will likely miss one or more intervals during their treatment. However, this is unlikely to affect the original treatment plan overall. In some cases, treatment may be extended by 1-3 months.
If you or your family member have traditional braces, the number one thing to do is keep them CLEAN! This alone will help avoid most issues that could arise.
Listed below is information related to orthodontic care that will help you during our office closure. Please read each point carefully if it applies to your specific orthodontic appliance.

If there is a question or concern about your or your family member’s treatment, call the office at (925) 837-1333. If there is an emergency, please call my cell phone at (925) 683-4822. An emergency is something poking or hurting that cannot wait. Something loose that is not hurting is not considered an emergency. We can also virtually connect using Google Hangouts if needed.
Remember, keep your appliances CLEAN!
Thank you for understanding, be well and stay healthy.
